Highpoint Condominiums - An Energy Retrofit Success Story
PNF Engineering was responsible for all the Mechanical Engineering services involved in the replacement of the existing hot water system at Highpoint (245 suite condominium building built by Tridel in 1977). Engineering services included site assessment of existing conditions, preliminary and detailed design, drawings and specification preparation, contract administration and site reviews.
Our design involved replacement of the original boilers with modulating high efficiency units as well as modifying the domestic hot water supply with booster pump sets equipped with modulating frequency drives.
This allowed for water to be supplied on demand and enabled the supply and power consumption to closely match tenant demand and lead to a savings of close to $100,000 over a 10 month period.
